Punk Panther Nidderdale Way
Punk Panther Nidderdale Way is a trail ultramarathon held on the Nidderdale Way in North Yorkshire that passes locations such as Ripley Castle, Brimham Rocks, Scar House Reservoir and How Stean Gorge. The event offers four distance options and is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Distances available:
- 13 miles - 1700 feet climb
- 20 miles - 2800 feet climb
- 32 miles - 4700 feet climb
- 55 miles - 7500 feet climb
The event issues ITRA points and UTMB qualifications corresponding to the distances. All entrants aged 18 or older are supplied with a tracker that must be worn; the tracker appears on the public tracker screen and includes an emergency button. There are six checkpoints on the route at Lofthouse Memorial Hall Car Park (6.2 miles), Middlesmoor Car Park (15 miles), Wath (21 miles), Pateley Bridge (28 miles), Brimham Hall (33 miles) and Birstwith (45 miles). Checkpoint closing times apply and arriving after a checkpoint has closed results in retirement from the race.
Registration takes place at Pateley Bridge Cricket Club, Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, HG3 5HQ. The event has a maximum of 200 entrants. Required kit includes a suitable pack, waterproof jacket, fluids, cup for drinks, survival/bivvy bag, whistle, mobile phone with race contacts stored, personal first aid, hard copy map, head torch and a tracker for ultramarathon entrants.
