NorCal Backyard Ultra - NEVER ENDING FUN
The NorCal Backyard Ultra is a timed loop event held at Beals Point, Granite Bay, California over a multi-day weekend in October 2026. Runners complete the same 4.16 mile trail loop on the hour; the primary format continues until only one runner remains. A shorter "Mini" format uses the same loop but limits the event to 12 hours.
The course lists an elevation gain of about 320 feet per lap. There is one staffed aid area at the start and finish under a tent that provides water, hydration mix, light snacks, and some warm food. There are no aid stations along the course and receiving aid on course by crew is not allowed. Participants are encouraged to set up their own aid supplies near the start and finish line.
All finishers receive a NorCal Backyard Ultra quarter zip and a custom wood award based on distance completed. The top finisher is awarded a custom wood plaque. The event includes a charitable component called the Unity Initiative which matches participant donations to selected nonprofit partners up to a stated limit and may offer a future race discount for donors.
