Murder Mystery Run - Oswestry
This is a team-based running event organised by Adrenaline Sporting Events at 28 Cross St, Oswestry SY11 2NG, UK. Teams of two, three or four are given a murder back story and seven suspect locations with clues. At the briefing teams receive the seven clue locations and then have thirty minutes to plan a route before heading out together to collect clues and return to the start to report their solution to the detective.
The shortest possible route is 10 km; the longest route depends on teams' planning and navigation. Some clues may require short sections of off-road running, but the route is suitable for standard road running shoes; trail shoes may help if conditions are wet or muddy. Participants are advised to bring a suitable headtorch and appropriate clothing for the expected conditions.
Navigation is self-directed and part of the challenge. Teams must choose their own routes and use public roads, footpaths, bridleways and designated public rights of way. Participants must not cross private land or gardens, climb fences, walls or gates, or take shortcuts through private property. Respect for local residents, other trail users and the countryside is required.
