MTC NUCKELAVEE

The MTC NUCKELAVEE is a single-day ultra event scheduled for 29 May 2028 and forms Day 3 of the nine day Mount to Coast SCOTIA series. The route covers a total distance of 40.1 miles with approximately 2,712 ft of ascent and 2,733 ft of descent. This is the first edition of the event.

The course starts at Travelodge Edinburgh Airport and concludes at Travelodge Perth A9. Competitor entries are limited to 20, with an additional allowance of 20 places for SCOTIA participants, giving a maximum field of 40 runners.

The organisers apply preset cut-off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors falling below this threshold may be warned and can be withdrawn if the pace does not recover. The race is cup free, so entrants must use a reusable cup for checkpoint drinks. Finishers receive a NUCKELAVEE medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies.

Maps and GPX files are provided to competitors only and are emailed about four weeks before the event. Each competitor is issued a tracking device with real-time monitoring and an SOS button. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, the supplied route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid including blister treatment, emergency food and a waterproof map case.

Entry fees are non refundable. Standard entry and an optional Plus Race Package including an embroidered race shirt and lightweight hi‑viz jacket are available, with the clothing option requiring purchase at least four weeks before the event. A defer option is available for a fee under specified conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
