Mourne Mountain Marathon
The Mourne Mountain Marathon is a two day endurance and navigation event in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland. The 47th edition takes place on 19th and 20th September 2026. It is run for teams of two and includes both multi-day and one-day options.
Race formats include:
- 35-55 km two-day team courses
- One-day Score class with points collected in six hours
Courses run across mountain terrain and the distance versus ascent figures are guidelines that can vary with terrain, weather and competitor experience. Teams camp overnight and must be self-sufficient for the duration of the event. A flexible start time is offered on day one.
SPORTident electronic timing is used and an SI card will be allocated to each competitor; both team members must punch each control within five minutes of each other and the later punch sets the finish time. The event offers a range of prize categories, a t-shirt and car sticker for competitors, and refreshments at the end of day two.
