Mountain Creek Mayhem - Gardners, PA
Mountain Creek Mayhem is a triple-distance trail event held at Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Fuller Lake Day Use Area in Gardners, Pennsylvania, presented by Meatball Runners on September 19, 2026.
Distances
- 50K : about 33 miles, 4,400+ ft elevation
- 20 Miler : first 20 miles of the 50K, 3,000 ft elevation
- Half Marathon : 13.1ish miles, 1,400+ ft elevation
Courses run through the northern Michaux State Forest and combine sandstone boulder ridgelines, woodland savannah, mountain laurel and wild blueberry. Trails include flowy single track, pine-needle surfaces, grassy double track, technical forest paths and rocky descents. The 50K route visits multiple viewpoints and is designed to include the area’s notable terrain features.
Aid stations are located at set mileages for each distance and typically offer water, electrolyte (Tailwind), Coke, ginger ale, fruit, potatoes or chips, Fritos, cookies (regular and gluten-free), gels, candy, Rice Krispie Treats, pickles, occasional meatballs, and menstrual products.
Logistics: race headquarters are in the grassy field behind the bath house at Fuller Lake with available bathrooms, showers, and parking. Race day registration will be accepted in 2026. Drop bag and crew access differ by distance: the 50K has one drop bag location (Brickyard, Mile 19.7) and crew access at Brickyard and Laurel Lake; the 20 Miler and Half Marathon have no drop bag options, and crew access rules vary. Time limits are 10 hours for the 50K and 7 hours for the 20 Miler and Half Marathon. Awards are based on lowest completion times; there are no separate hike or ruck divisions.
