Monster Mash Bash Run For a Cure
The Monster Mash Bash Run For a Cure is a timed endurance challenge in Burnet, Texas that asks participants to complete one mile every hour for 30 hours, for an official total of 30 miles when all 30 consecutive miles are finished. The course is a closed one mile out and back route, roughly 1/2 mile out and 1/2 mile back, using a mix of trail and road surfaces. The event continues through daylight and nighttime hours.
Runners may enter the challenge at any scheduled hourly start. Once a runner begins, they must start and complete one full mile during each consecutive hourly round. Missing an official start or failing to finish the mile before the next hourly start ends that runner's event. There are no skipped hours, make up miles, late starts after entering, or re entry after elimination.
The entry fee is listed at $125.00 and net proceeds are donated to Jar Of Hope. Race organizers provide water, ice, and portable restrooms. Trail Toes provides complimentary basic foot care items. Participants are expected to bring food, electrolytes, hydration containers, medications, lighting, batteries, footwear, and weather appropriate clothing.
Crew and spectators may assist runners between miles. A designated parking and base camp area allows tents and 10 foot by 10 foot pop up canopies within marked areas. Night running requires an operational headlamp or approved light. The Race Director may modify or cancel portions of the event for safety and enforces course and conduct rules.
