Monsal Trail April Half Marathon & 10k Weekend

A weekend of trail races based at the old Bakewell station site in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The event takes place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April 2027 and offers two distance options along the Monsal Trail.

The route follows a former Midland Railway line and passes through four tunnels and across the Monsal viaduct. The course is traffic free, multi terrain and undulating, with countryside views of the Peak District. Route maps and downloadable GPX files are provided.

Included for entrants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Event information is sent to registered entrants before race day. On-the-day entry fees are listed as Half Marathon £40 and 10k £35 subject to availability.

Practical notes for attendees include that there is no general car parking at Bakewell Station other than for disabled motorists. Two large pay and display car parks are located about 500 metres from the station. The road to Bakewell Station is a no through road so drop off is not feasible. Hassop Station, about a mile along the trail, provides parking, spectator facilities and a café. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
