Monsal Metric Marathon & Half Marathon

Monsal Metric Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on 14 February 2027 at Bakewell Station in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The event offers two metric distances on the Monsal Trail and describes the route as largely flat-ish and fast over multi terrain with some undulation.

The route uses a traffic free trail through the Peak District and provides downloadable route maps including GPX files. Event highlights listed by the organiser include the new metric distances, scenic Peak District views, suitability for spring marathon training, and a friendly atmosphere.

Included for entrants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Advance offers listed show prices from £29 to £37; on the day entry fees, subject to availability, are shown as Marathon £45 and Half Marathon £35.

Race headquarters and the start and finish are at Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GE. There is no general car parking at the station except for blue badge holders. Town centre pay and display car parks are around 500 metres from the station. The road to the station is a no through road and is not suitable for drop off. Additional parking and spectator facilities are available about a mile along the trail at Hassop Station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A 7.7 km fell race around Longstone Edge in the Peak District on 4 September 2026, mostly off road with 290 m of ascent. Entry for the main race is limited to 200 runners and junior races are run separately.
Two linked fell races on Kinder in the Peak District: Groovy AL (24.5 km, 1290 m) and Groovy Baby BM (15.5 km, 650 m), single entry, 200 runner limit.
