Moab Trail Marathon
The Moab Trail Marathon is a multi-day trail running event held November 7 and 8, 2026 in the Kane Creek Canyon area near Moab, Utah. The event uses the Kane Creek Recreation parking area and follows fully marked trail courses that run alongside the Colorado River and through canyon country.
Available distances
- 26.2 Miles full trail marathon
- 13.1 Miles half marathon (multiple Saturday and Sunday options)
- 10 km trail run
- 1 km Kid's K
Entries commonly include a race shirt, goodie bag, chip timing, a finisher medal and mug, shuttle service to/from town, aid stations with water and snacks, and post-race food. Registration for each race day is limited to the first 900 entrants; Saturday races typically fill early with a waitlist available, while the Sunday half marathon is expected to remain open later and has a lower entry fee.
The marathon and half marathon are trail races with long, remote sections. Organizers note these courses are not recommended for runners without trail experience or those planning to walk most of the course. The Saturday half marathon serves as the USATF Trail Half Marathon National Championship and there is an endorsed Collegiate Half Marathon National Championship category with enrollment and team eligibility rules. A portion of entry fees is donated to local nonprofit organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
