McKee Southern 6 Trail Race
The McKee Southern 6 Trail Race is the 18th annual six kilometer trail event presented by Southern Adventist University’s Outdoor Adventure Program. The race runs on the White Oak Mountain trails on the university campus in Collegedale, Tennessee and uses mountain bike trails with mostly hard packed surfaces.
The 6K course is about 3.6 miles with roughly 440 feet of vertical gain. The route features a steep climb in the first mile and a rolling descent over the final 2.5 miles. Cash prizes totaling over $900 are distributed among top overall finishers, top masters finishers, and the top university student finishers. The event also includes male and female course record bounties that grow if unclaimed.
Online registration is limited to 175 runners through February 19, with an additional 75 entries available during packet pickup on race day. Registration fee is $40 including taxes and processing; Southern Adventist University students and youth under 18 receive a 66 percent discount. Proceeds support the Adventure Program Affinity Fund, which brings disadvantaged Hamilton County students to the campus ropes course and other outdoor programs.
