McKee Southern 6 Trail Race
The McKee Southern 6 Trail Race is the 18th annual six kilometer trail race presented by Southern Adventist University’s Outdoor Adventure Program. The course uses the White Oak Mountain trails on the university campus in Collegedale, Tennessee. The event date is February 21, 2027, and the listed meeting location is the Hickman Science Center at 4843 Colcord Drive, Collegedale, TN 37363.
Registration information notes an online cap of 175 runners with a deadline of February 19, plus an additional 75 spots available during packet pickup on race day. The registration fee is $40 including taxes and processing; Southern Adventist University students and youth under 18 receive a 66% discount.
Cash prizes totaling over $900 are distributed among 1st–3rd overall male and female finishers, 1st–3rd masters male and female finishers, and the top male and female Southern Adventist University student finishers. Course record bounties were introduced in 2024 at $100 each and roll over if not claimed; the current men's course record is 22:04 (2023) with a $300 bounty and the women's record is 26:14 (2024) with a $200 bounty.
The roughly 6 km course is about 3.6 miles with approximately 440 feet of vertical gain, mostly on rolling, hard packed mountain bike trails. The route features a steep climb in the first mile and a rolling descent over the final 2.5 miles. Net proceeds support the Adventure Program Affinity Fund to bring disadvantaged Hamilton County children to campus outdoor programs.
