Manitou’s Revenge
Manitou’s Revenge is a 53 mile ultramarathon on June 19, 2027, that runs through the Catskill Mountains in New York. The course begins in Windham on the northern Black Dome Trail and follows the Long Path from Acra Point to downtown Phoenicia.
The route includes approximately 15,000 ft of climbing and passes through rocky and precipitous terrain. While there are some runnable sections, much of the course requires hiking uphill or downhill and in places may require hand over hand movement. The course becomes progressively more difficult as it continues, and an average runner may encounter extended periods of darkness on harder sections.
Because of the remote and difficult nature of the route, aid stations are limited; runners should be prepared to spend up to three or four hours between aid stations and to be reasonably self sufficient. Registration uses a temporary waitlist: initial registration opens February 1 only to past finishers, with general registration opening February 22. Registrations placed on the waitlist that do not meet the qualifications between February 1 and February 21 may be removed without individual notice. Refunds minus the UltraSignup fee are available until May 1, and refunds are available at any time for pregnancy or postpartum needs.
Organized by Run Wild Inc., the event starts in Windham, NY and finishes in Phoenicia, NY. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
