Man vs Moor
Man vs Moor is an off road running event on Exmoor held at the Pinkery Centre for Outdoor Learning, Simonsbath, Somerset. It is scheduled for Sunday 27 June 2027 and entries have a published Early Bird fee of £21 and a Standard fee of £25 plus a booking fee; entries close on 18 June 2027. Accommodation at Pinkery is not offered for 2027 and local options are listed by the organiser.
Routes use natural terrain and named obstacles across the Chains area of Exmoor National Park. The event includes an open water swim of about 75 to 100 metres; an alternative route avoids the swim. Course way marking uses bright orange flags, minimal orange tape and marker arrows. Support includes marshals, checkpoints, a water station at about 7 miles on the 10 mile route, Channel Events first aid cover, and Exmoor Search and Rescue positioned across the moor. Free parking is provided on site at Pinkery.
Distances
- Light: 5 km route including Pinkery Pinnacles and Total Blackout.
- Classic: approximately 10 km (around 7.5 miles) with several natural obstacles.
- Ultimate: 10 miles combining the Classic route and an extra lap.
Entrants may purchase a bespoke solid oak finishers medal for £7. Under 16s must run with an adult at a ratio of one adult to two children; 16 to 18 year olds may run alone with written parental consent. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
