Lulworth Cove
The event is a series of coastal trail races based at Lulworth Cove near Wareham on the Jurassic Coast. Courses follow sections of the South West Coast Path and pass landmarks such as Durdle Door and Kimmeridge Bay. The event provides aid stations, on-course medical cover and chip timing for all races.
Distances include:
- 55 km ultra on coastal trail, cut-off 12 hours, minimum age 20
- 24 km coastal trail race, cut-off 6.5 hours, minimum age 18
- 10 km coastal trail run, cut-off 3 hours, minimum age 16
Aid stations are fully stocked with water, electrolytes or sports drink, coke, fruit, sweets, salty snacks, energy bars and energy gels at selected stations. This is a cupless event; participants should bring their own cup or soft flask. The ultra distance is monitored with GPS trackers and specialist trail event medics provide on-course support.
Facilities at the race village include bag drop, portaloos, food and snacks, a finish aid station, hot drinks and a kit stall. All events use chip timing and results are posted online shortly after the race. Walking poles are permitted. Headphone use is discouraged; open-ear and bone conduction devices are allowed so runners can hear announcements. A mandatory pre-race briefing is held 15 minutes before each race at Base Camp. Registration and bib collection take place at the Event Village on race morning, opening 1 hour 30 minutes before each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
