About the race
The Logan Peak Trail Run is a mountain trail event near Logan, Utah, held from a start location at Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park. The event offers two distances.
- Full marathon
- Half marathon
The full marathon follows Logan Dry Canyon singletrack and jeep roads through aspen groves and mature pine forests, with rocky terrain and repeated steep climbs and descents. The course includes roughly 6,000 feet of climbing and a similar amount of descent and reaches the summit area of Logan Peak via an out-and-back section near mile 12. Multiple staffed aid stations are placed along the route, including Dry Canyon aid points and a Logan Peak aid station.
The half marathon, introduced in 2027, is an out-and-back shortcut to the peak from Logan Dry Canyon. The half climbs about 4,860 feet to the summit and uses the same start and finish area as the marathon. Runners visit the Dry Canyon aid station once on the climb and again on the descent.
Aid stations stock energy drink mixes, gels, chews, waffles, fruit, sandwiches, trail mix, granola bars and assorted sodas; remote aid points have reduced supplies. The event route can include snow fields, rocks and mud and may be adjusted for safety due to weather or fire. Refunds follow the stated policy with a partial refund available before June 1 and no refunds after that date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
