Leeds Country Way In a Day 100km

The Leeds Country Way In a Day is a 100 km route that makes a full circuit around the city of Leeds using the Leeds Country Way footpaths. The route passes through neighbouring villages, parks and nature reserves and is mainly rural despite being close to the city.

The underfoot mix is roughly 80% trail and 20% road or tarmac, and weather in the week before the event can alter conditions. The LCW is waymarked with owl plaques and signposts; the event provides a mandatory GPX file and competitors are responsible for navigating the course. Live tracking will be available and race photography is provided.

Support is provided at nine aid stations along the route, including two indoor aid stations with drop bag access. Drop bags may be left at Garforth and Woodkirk; luggage may be left at Race HQ, which is at St John’s Community Church, Greengates BD10 0BB. Toilets are available at the start and finish and at Garforth and Woodkirk checkpoints. Finishers receive a wooden medal and a post race meal; first aid and DNF transport options are arranged.

Mandatory kit includes a phone or watch with the GPX or a paper map, headtorch, waterproof jacket, foil or survival blanket, warm hat and capacity for 1 litre of water. There is no formal minimum entry requirement, although prior long-distance experience is recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
