The event offers multiple mountain running options in Marble, Colorado on September 13, 2026. Routes move through the Elk Mountains, passing Lead King Basin, the historic Town of Crystal, and the Crystal Mill. Entries include a post-race Slow Groovin' BBQ lunch, a cold beer, a custom event shirt, and a custom finisher medal.
Distances:
- 25K Lead King Loop , dirt road, climbs about 2,900 vertical feet into Lead King Basin
- 8 mile Quarry Climb , out-and-back on Quarry Road through town and Millsite Park
- Kids 2.5K , loop from Thompson Park around Marble, includes t-shirt and goody bag
The 25K course starts at Thompson Park, rounds Beaver Lake, climbs steeply into Lead King Basin, traverses near 10,000 feet, then descends past waterfalls and the 110 year old Crystal Mill before returning to Marble via Daniel's Hill. The Quarry Climb begins and ends at Marble Children's Park and follows Quarry Road. The kids race starts and finishes at Thompson Park and includes a raffle entry.
Proceeds benefit Marble Charter School, a small rural public charter school serving families in the Crystal River Valley and supporting instructional supplies.
