Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs
The Lambton Estate Summer Trail Runs take place on Sunday 15 August 2027 at Lambton Castle, Chester le Street, County Durham. The event is held within the private grounds of the Lambton Estate and uses trails and tracks that are not usually open to the public.
Participants run through woodland and open parkland with historic estate surroundings and countryside views. There is a chance to spot wild deer on the estate. Routes use a mixture of woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths and private estate roads.
Distances offered:
- 5 km Trail Run for a shorter introduction to trail running
- 5 mile Trail Run on mixed terrain through woodland and fields
- 10 mile Trail Run on a moderately undulating estate route
- 15 mile Trail Run combining the 10 mile route with a 5 mile loop
The event is canicross friendly: one well controlled dog per runner is permitted and dogs must remain on a lead. Live chip timing is provided for accurate race times and results. Every finisher receives a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a post-race snack and drink. A custom event T-shirt is available for £14.
