Ullswater
This Lakeland Trails event takes place at Glenridding on the eastern shore of Ullswater and offers trail running on marked, marshalled courses. There are two main distances on well signed routes that combine scenic trails with short sections of tarmac. The course includes rocky and rooty sections that may be slippery, climbs such as Silver Crag, and the 14 km route rises to Boredale Hause before descending into Patterdale. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Boat sailings from the Ullswater Steamers pier to the start are provided when conditions permit and boat places are limited; every competitor must carry and present compulsory kit at boarding. If boats cannot sail, contingency routes start from Jenkin’s Field and follow the eastern shore. For safety there are advanced life support medics and the local mountain rescue team on site, radio communications to marshals, and baggage storage near the main marquee. In ear headphones are not allowed; bone conductor headphones are permitted.
Event facilities include an event village with local food traders, race merchandise and on site registration where race numbers must be collected. Entries require a minimum age of 18 and the published entry price is £34 per runner. Results are published live on the event results page and there is a prizegiving with spot prizes after the race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
