About the race
Lakeland Paws: Grizedale Growl is a trail running event at Grizedale Forest on the east side of the forest, scheduled for 3 January 2027. It is part of Season 5 and is the organiser's second event at Grizedale this season.
The course is fully marked and runs on wide forest paths. The event is chip timed and GPX files are available for download. There are no cut offs for either route.
Two course options are offered:
- 10K loop with 260 m of ascent
- 6K route with 150 m of ascent
The route layout allows up to two dogs per runner on the course. All dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners may enter without dogs. The shorter route is suggested for participants seeking less ascent or a shorter option for their dogs. Entry opened on 27 April 2026 and closes on 2 January 2027.
