La Llorona 10K Trail Run
The event is a themed 10K trail run held on January 24, 2027, at McAllister Park, Pavilion #2, San Antonio, TX. The course uses park trails and notes cactus-lined paths and possible wildlife sightings such as deer and armadillos. A course map is provided.
The organizer frames the run as inspired by the legend of La Llorona and by related historical stories, presenting the event as a tribute to voices, legends, and memories. The event program includes chip timing, customized bib numbers, tech shirts, handmade awards, costume contests, and cash prizes. A finisher medal and a TEE or hoodies are listed as coming soon.
Awards include overall male and female, top male and female masters (40 and over), and 10 year age groups with awards for the first three male and female finishers. Age group awards will be based on chip time and overall winner awards will be based on gun time. There is a cash prize for the best Llorona costume and no duplication of awards.
Packet pick-up is available on race day at the race site. Event fees are nonrefundable and are tiered: $45 early bird, $50 in August, $55 starting September 1, and $60 on race day. Volunteer positions are noted for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
