Krug Castle Challenge
The Krug Castle Challenge takes place at Krug Park in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The event uses a loop format: participants complete repeated laps of the park with 20 minutes allotted to finish each lap before the time resets.
Distances offered
- Krug Castle Kinda 5k : 3.6 miles
- Krug Castle 10K : 6.1 miles
- Challenge option with additional laps beyond the 10K
Medals are awarded to participants who register for the Kinda 5k or the 10K and complete those distances. Participants who complete distances beyond the 10K receive a challenge medal. There will be no official timing for the 1 mile, 5k or 10k distances. Winners will be identified in three categories: King, Queen, and Nonbinary; the last person remaining in each category will be declared the winner.
Organizers note there is lighting on the course and some holiday lights are on, but participants running during dark are encouraged to bring a headlamp or body lamp.
Parking is limited. Attendees are asked to use the lower southwest side lot accessed from St. Joseph Avenue or to use available street parking. The main park entry will be closed.
Registration opens April 26, 2026 and closes October 10, 2026. Fees vary by event. Eighty percent of proceeds support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and 20 percent support Knot-4-Profit Collaborations. Costumes are encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
