Kirkcaldy Parks Trail 2026
Kirkcaldy Parks Trail is the trail race element of the Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival on 29 August 2026. The event is held at Dunnikier Park, Kirkcaldy, with Race HQ and the start and finish within the park grounds.
The route comprises two laps of approximately 5k each. Each lap leaves the park to pass through gently undulating woodland and the tracks around the outside of the golf course before returning to finish in the park. Surfaces include grass, tarmac, gravel, soft trail and field edge, so appropriate footwear should be considered.
The race is run under UK Athletics rules and holds a Scottish Athletics permit. The minimum age on the day is 16. A two hour time limit applies (about 19 minutes per mile); runners expected to take longer may still receive a t-shirt and medal but an official time cannot be guaranteed after the cut-off.
The festival is organised by a non-profit group aiming for inclusivity, including financial measures supported by sponsors to keep entry costs lower. The event lists Maggie’s Fife as its official charity partner and the festival operates as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC051403).
Practical notes from the organiser include restricted use of some park car parks on the day, parking at the nearby NHS Overflow Car Park at Whytemans Brae, and encouragement to use nearby bus links. Entry transfer rules, t-shirt change deadlines and refund policy are set by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
