Kirkcaldy Parks two person relay 2026

The Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival includes a new two person relay on 30 August 2026 that uses Fife’s half marathon route split into two legs. The course runs through three town parks and along a coastal path, and finishes via the town waterfront and measured mile.

Distances for the relay legs:

  • Leg 1: Tap o' the Toun, approx. 6.2 miles, 151 ft ascent
  • Leg 2: Lang Toun Return, approx. 6.9 miles, 102 ft ascent

The route passes Beveridge Park, Dunnikier Park and Ravenscraig Park, includes coastal path sections with sea views, and goes through historical Dysart. The final section uses the refurbished Waterfront and a flat measured mile used by local running clubs. The route contains hills, flat sections and downhill segments.

The event is held under UK Athletics rules with a Scottish Athletics permit; the minimum age on the day is 16. A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order has been applied for and marshals will manage road closures and open road sections. Only bone conducting headphones are permitted under UKA Rule 240 S5 and are worn at the runner’s own risk. There is a three hour time limit for the race. Entry is limited to 30 places. Transfers between runners are allowed up to the closing date; refunds and deferrals are not available.

The festival supports charity partner Maggie’s Fife, which is marking its 20th anniversary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
