About the race
Kingsbury Cougar Mudder & Twilight 5K Run or Walk is the 16th annual on campus event held on the Kingsbury campus in Oxford, Michigan. The venue covers about 100 acres and the main activities use a 5K course that runs across trails, roads, meadows, gravel and hills with wooded and uneven terrain. 5K participants are timed with a chip timer.
The weekend program includes three participation options: a 5K Run/Walk, a Cougar Mudder Obstacle Course 5K, and a Virtual 5K. The obstacle course involves climbing over walls, crawling under obstacles, completing tasks, and moving across both dry and wet terrain. A Free Fun Glow Run for younger runners takes place after the 5K events and does not require a separate sign up.
Prizes include gift cards from Hanson's Running Shop for the top three male and top three female 15 and older ($25, $15, $10) and awards for the top 5K male and female finishers age 14 and under. Entry fees cover post-race refreshments, glow sticks, top finisher prizes, and a finisher medal while supplies last; registering and paying by September 1 guarantees a commemorative Kingsbury 5K custom finisher medal. Pricing tiers listed by the organizer are $25 for advanced registration through September 1, $35 from September 2 through September 25, and $40 on race day.
