About the race
KC Dirt Community holds a weekly Monday evening group run at Shawnee Mission Park, meeting at the marina lot trail head. The group runs loops on the mountain bike dirt trails with two distance options. If the dirt trails are closed because of wet conditions, the group meets at the same place to run on paved trails instead.
Runs are female led and welcome people at different paces; leaders aim to keep the group together so participants are supported on the route. Distances offered include:
- 2.5 miles
- 4.5 miles
The community also organizes weekend morning runs on various trails around the Kansas City area. Weekend meetups can be arranged through the group’s Facebook group. The organizer posts regular updates for the runs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
