JJ5K - Stanley
The JJ5K is a trail event organized by Community Pentecostal Center at Common Ground in Stanley, North Carolina. The course begins and ends at Common Ground and runs mostly on grass and dirt trails. The route is described as beginner friendly and is intended for both adults and children.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 miles 5K timed run with chip timing
- 3.1 miles 5K walk not timed
- 1 mile walk not timed
Registration fees and windows vary by event. Fees listed are $20 for the timed 5K run, $15 for the 5K non timed walk, and $10 for the 1 mile walk. Registration opens in February 2026 and closes in August 2026 for the events.
The 5K timed run awards overall male and overall female first place finishers. Age divisions are 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 plus.
The event supports a $2,000 scholarship for a senior dance team member at East Gaston High School established in memory of a community member who died from breast cancer in 2016.
