Lets Motor along the Towpath - Rodley
Its Grim Up North Running stages a towpath event from The Cricket Club, Canal Bank Sports Ground, Moss Bridge Road, Rodley, Leeds LS13 1RL. The course runs along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal on a largely flat, good trail tow path, described as out and back. Elevation is generally flat apart from the locks. The route is marshalled and signed, with toilets available at the start and bespoke medals plus finishers' treats.
Feed and drink stations are placed around every 3 miles and the event operates a cup-less system; runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. GPX files are available for download and not every corner or junction will be marshalled, so participants should have navigation aids. The organiser requests that large over ear headphones are not worn; bone conducting or one-in one-out earphones are suggested. There may be unmarshalled road crossings.
Travel notes state that Rodley is served by buses from Leeds, Keighley, Shipley, Bingley and Bradford. Parking is available at the Cricket Club for a fee of £5 cash payable at registration, with additional on-road parking in the area. Transfers can be self-served up to seven days before the event. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA Rules.
