Isaac's Tea Trail Ultra : The Original Or Reverse 7/8/27

Isaac's Tea Trail Ultra is a trail running event on 7th August 2027 based in Allendale, Northumberland, with the race HQ at Allendale Village Hall. The route is a loop of 37 miles with approximately 4,800 ft of ascent and lies entirely within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a UNESCO Global Geopark. The course passes through Allendale, Ninebanks, Alston and Nenthead before returning to Allendale.

The route follows permanent finger posts and Isaac’s Tea Trail markers. Marshals will be present at key points, but the event is primarily self navigating; a map and GPX file are provided. Entrants have up to 12 hours to complete the course, which corresponds to an average pace of about 3 mph. A relay option is offered for teams of three runners.

Terrain includes farmland tracks, field boundaries, sheep trods, minor roads and stony undulating trails; trail shoes are recommended. The event lists checkpoint provision of cold drinks, snacks, fruit and vegan sweets, plus hot drinks at race headquarters. Organisers provide an event tracker, free event pictures and a branded event tea towel, and a donation from each entry supports trail upkeep.

The organiser notes eco-friendly measures such as avoiding disposable plastic cups and not offering T shirts as standard, and includes a packet of mixed wild flower seeds with entries to encourage pollinators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
