Ingleton Three Counties Fell Race

The Ingleton Three Counties Fell Race is a high-level fell running event around the watershed of the two rivers that meet at Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales. The route visits three counties, starting in Yorkshire, passing Lancashire’s highest point, entering Cumbria, and returning to Yorkshire to finish near Ingleton.

The course distance is 31.5 km / 19.5 miles with 1580 m / 5184 ft of total ascent. The route includes open fell terrain, boggy fell-top running, a climb to Whernside trigpoint, a descent to Ribblehead, and high-level sections via Park Fell and Ingleborough. The first control is at Gragareth and the line passes near Green Hill.

The event is registered with the Fell Runners Association as an A-Long event. Entrants must be at least 18 years old and experienced in navigating arduous open fell terrain in variable weather. Route reconnaissance is not permitted in some sections because they are not on open access land.

Race base and registration are at Mealbank Hall, Oddies Lane, Ingleton LA6 3ER. Parking is available at Ingleton Waterfalls, Broadwood Entrance LA6 3ET; a £4 cash fee applies on the day and this does not include entry to the Waterfalls walk. Toilets are available at the car park and at the registration venue. Entry fees differ for FRA members and non members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
