Huntsville Run Fest
Huntsville Run Fest takes place October 24–25, 2026, at McMullen Cove, Alabama. The weekend includes multiple trail and road distances and a community-focused event format.
Race distances include:
- Sublett Challenge 5K (certified 5K out-and-back on the Two Mountain Greenway)
- 25K Trail Run
- 50K Trail Run (same loop as the 25K, completed twice)
The Sublett Challenge follows a paved climb to Sublett Point and offers an uphill-focused out-and-back route. A new Ruck Division is available for athletes who wish to complete the climb with added weight. Awards include overall and masters categories and a King of the Mountain prize for the fastest climb to Sublett Point.
The 25K and 50K run on predominantly single-track trails in the McMullen Cove trail system. The 25K includes approximately 2,500+ feet of climbing and the 50K approximately 5,000+ feet. The course includes steep and technical sections as well as faster runnable stretches, and much of the trail is shaded beneath a dense forest canopy.
Notable landmarks along the trail include Indian Trees, Pancake Hollow waterfall, Blake’s Cabin, Sublett Point overlook, and Silo Hill. Aid stations are placed throughout the course and are never more than four miles apart. Packet pick-up is scheduled at Fleet Feet Huntsville and at McMullen Cove.
Event sponsors include HOKA as the 2026 Race/Training Sponsor and several local partners. Proceeds from the event support childhood cancer research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
