HOWL-O-WEEN Hairy and Scary Fest Zombie Run 5k
The event is a charity run in Mountain Home, AR at 1600 S College St on October 10, 2026. All proceeds go to Lucky Dawg Rescue Inc. The program includes a variety of activities around the run, a pet adoption fair with local shelters, music throughout the events, and several informal races and contests for participants and families.

The 5K features zombie zones and safe zones along the trail. Runners wear flag belts that represent health; zombies attempt to remove flags. A participant who finishes with at least one flag is classed as a survivor and receives a survivor prize. Individuals receive medals for first through third place when they cross the finish line with any flags left. Teams must consist of exactly four members; the first entire team of four to finish with at least one member still holding a flag receives a team survivor medal.
For safety, dogs are not allowed in the zombie race. Animals brought to watch must be leashed at all times and kept off the race route during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
