Horsted Keynes Fun Run
The Horsted Keynes Fun Run is a community fundraising event at Horsted Keynes Recreation Ground Field. Routes use countryside footpaths, bridleways and country lanes and may include uneven ground, mud, tree roots, slopes, gates, stiles and livestock nearby. The course is undulating and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Distances offered:
- 8.3 km Longer route with greater fatigue and navigation demands.
- 5 km Two laps of the 2.5 km loop; 11 plus recommended.
- 2.5 km Single loop, no minimum age if accompanied by an adult for under 11.
Participants keep their own times; the event is not chip timed. Entry is limited to 150 places. Money raised will be split equally between Rocking Horse Children’s Charity and The Friends Of St Giles PTA.
Safety and event notes: participants must assess their own fitness and suitability, and children under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. Marshals will be present and a qualified first aider will attend, though medical response time may vary by location. Roads on the route remain open to traffic; participants must follow marshal instructions, keep to the marked route and take extra care when crossing roads. Facilities at race HQ are limited with no toilets, no water, no showers, no baggage storage and no distance markers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
