Hocking Hills Trail Run
The Hocking Hills Trail Run is the 49th annual trail event at Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio, held on September 12, 2026. The event offers multiple race distances and uses trails in both Hocking Hills State Park and Hocking State Forest.
The course begins near the Naturalist Cabin by the Old Man's Cave parking area and routes runners through Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, and the Fire Tower. Trails include stream crossings, gorges, and forested singletrack with notable elevation changes; each 10 mile loop accumulates about 1300 feet of gain. The courses were redesigned to be predominantly trail surface, now about 95 percent trail for most distances.

Mapped distances may differ from advertised distances; the truest mapped measurements are 50K = 31.20 miles, 20 Mile = 20.80 miles, 10 Mile = 10.40 miles, 5 Mile = 5.04 miles, and 5K = 3.18 miles. Courses are not certified for record purposes.
Event details: participant capacity is 600 entrants, online registration opens February 1, 2026 and closes September 10, 2026, and a waitlist is used if capacity is reached. Packet pick-up takes place at the start/finish area at the Hocking Hills State Park Visitor Center, 19988 OH-664 Scenic, Logan, OH 43138. Main parking holds about 400 vehicles with an overflow lot and shuttle service.
Entrants receive a race shirt and every finisher receives a handmade pottery medallion. Top three male and female finishers at each distance receive overall awards, and awards are offered across multiple age groups. Aid stations and time cutoffs are enforced and participants must follow event rules, complete required waivers, and observe crew and bib policies.
