High Five 100 - Lake City, CO
The High Five 100 is a 100 Miler event in Lake City, CO scheduled for August 6, 2027. The challenge uses 24 specified locations made up of proof points and checkpoints rather than a marked course. Registration opens January 1, 2027.
Runners must travel on foot between the points and visit them in order. Checkpoints are the only locations where crew or an entrant's drop bag may provide aid. Instructions for proof points are given at a pre-challenge meeting the evening before the event. A 48 hour cutoff is required for recognition of finishing the challenge.
The most practical route is estimated between 90 and 105 miles with over 40,000 ft of elevation gain. The course includes summits of five 14ers and six 13ers and traverses rugged terrain in the San Juan Mountains. Organizers do not mark a course, do not provide aid stations, and do not charge an entry fee; finishers do not receive a medal. Participants are expected to follow wilderness regulations and show respect for the land. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
