Hell Hole Half - Cordesville, SC
The Hell Hole Half is a roughly 13.1(ish) mile out-and-back run on Hell Hole Road in the Francis Marion National Forest near Cordesville, South Carolina. The course follows a gravel forest road with surrounding Lowcountry scenery and minimal course infrastructure.
The route consists of about 6.5(ish) miles out, a turnaround point, and the return to the start/finish. There will be no course markings and only one water station located at the turnaround, so participants should carry any on-course nutrition they expect to need.
The event is organized by Palmetto Ultras and is limited to 50 runners. This is the first and possibly the only edition of the race. Runners have a 3 hour time limit to complete the distance.
Packet pickup takes place race morning at the start/finish line from 7:00 to 7:30. At the finish there will be water, chips, soda, and hot dogs prepared on site. Swag consists of items from past events available at a table after finishing; the first finisher will have first selection. Awards will be presented to the top two male and female finishers.
The event is scheduled for October 11, 2026 in Cordesville, SC. The organizer notes there are no refunds or standard deferrals, with a pregnancy and postpartum deferral option and bib transfer and insurance options available through the entry platform.
