Hell Hole Hundred
The Hell Hole Hundred is a multi-distance trail event held June 4–6, 2027 in Bethera, South Carolina, on the Jericho Horse Trail inside the Francis Marion National Forest. The organizer is Palmetto Ultras and the title sponsor is The Foot Store.
Distances offered include:
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- 50 kilometers
- Night 25 kilometers
- 25 kilometers
- 10 kilometers
The course uses two loop options, a 16 mile loop and an 18 mile loop, composed of dirt fire roads and single track. The terrain is described as flat, and the event takes place in hot, humid swamp conditions typical of South Carolina in June. Night running requires a personal light and spare power; the 10k has no aid stations so runners should carry necessary fluids.
Three fully stocked aid stations are placed on course and a main aid station at the start/finish will offer food and drinks. Porta potties are located at the start/finish and at both aid stations. Runners must check in at each aid station. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish or at a runner's vehicle or tent. Pacers are permitted for 50 mile and 100 mile events under the posted pacer rules.
The event is part of a Swamp Series that tracks cumulative miles across three races and awards male and female series winners. No refunds or deferrals are offered, with specific exceptions noted by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
