Hawkshead Show Fell Race

The sports programme at Hawkshead Show returns for its fourth year and includes an adults fell race and a range of children's sports held in the afternoon. The adults event is for competitors aged 17 and above and covers approximately 7.8 km (about 5 miles) on a route from the show field to the summit of Latterbarrow, taking in views across Esthwaite Vale and Windermere Lake.

Entry to the sports is free for show attendees and entry to the fell race is included in the show admission. Online entry is available up to 11:00 on 18 August 2026 and on-day entry is also accepted; race registration closes at 11:00. The fell race is regulated by the Fell Runners Association and competitors must carry the full kit required by those rules. Prizes include trophies for first male and first female finishers.
