Hawk Hundred : Lawrence, KS
The Hawk Hundred is a trail running event at Clinton State Park near Lawrence, KS, organized by the Lawrence Trail Hawks. The event offers three distance options:
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
The course is a 25-mile loop of technical, rolling singletrack and connector trails. Marathon runners run an additional 1.2 miles on the Nature Center Trail before joining the 25-mile loop. The loop includes a 2.5-mile Goodwin Loop that traverses Bunker Hill and several crossings of blue- and white-blazed trails; course markings and signs indicate the route.
Aid is provided at staffed stations along the loop. Key aid locations and typical distances are:
- Lands End: 4.5 miles and 18.5 miles : no crew access, drop bags
- West Park Road: 10.5 miles and 13 miles : crew access, drop bags
- Start/Finish: 25 miles : crew access, drop bags
Aid stations usually offer a mix of food and drink, including Tailwind and Honey Stinger products, with vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore options and hot food overnight. All distances are chip timed by Timer Guys and live updates are available on race day.
Finishers receive event apparel and distance-specific swag; 100-mile finishers receive a finishers buckle with a distinct design for sub-24-hour finishes. Awards are given by overall place, gender and non-binary placements, masters, and a "Last Mule in the Barn" award. The event has no-refund and specific deferral and distance-change policies.
