Harvest & Howitzer Backyard Ultra - Georgetown, CA
Harvest & Howitzer is a backyard ultra held on a private Christmas tree and heritage apple farm near Georgetown, California. The event uses a measured 4.167-mile loop that runners must complete every hour; the race continues until one runner completes an extra loop alone and is the last person remaining. The event date is May 1, 2027.
The course travels through tree rows, a heritage apple orchard, historic mining ground, and farm roads. The original course plan estimates about 500 feet of elevation gain per yard. Runners return to a central corral after each loop and may receive crew support only in the designated village area between yards; no pacers or on-course crew assistance are allowed during a yard.
The venue plan includes a central runner village with space for a 10 by 10 foot crew setup per runner, on-site camping, restrooms, a commercial kitchen and bakery, and indoor and covered gathering areas. The event includes a youth version called Last Kid Standing for children ages 5–12 held on a smaller loop at a shorter clock.
