A Happy New Year 5K & 10K Trail Run
The event takes place January 1 and 2, 2027 at Canyon of the Eagles, Shaffer Bend Recreation Area near Lake Travis in Burnet, TX (16942 Ranch Road 2341). The organizer listed is Fit Foundation.

Both distances use loop-based courses with a central start and finish area. The trails are described as well marked with signage and event crew, and offer rolling terrain, short climbs, and views of Lake Travis. Walkers, joggers, and runners are welcome; the course is presented as suitable for walking or running.
Parking is available inside the park near the start and finish area. All participants must complete an online waiver before racing; race day registrants may need a photo ID and can pick up a bib on site.
Recommended items include hydration (handheld bottle or vest), trail-appropriate shoes, sunscreen, hat, and a phone or watch. Layers are suggested for cool mornings and warmer late morning conditions. Costumes and festive gear are allowed. Participants are asked to watch their footing on trails, pack out trash, and respect other runners, hikers, and park visitors.
