Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon 2026
Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon is the sixth edition of this trail event taking place in Northumberland. The route starts at Housesteads Roman Fort and finishes in Tyne Green Country Park, Hexham, and covers a distance of 13.5 miles.
The course follows the Hadrian's Wall Trail Path for about six miles, then descends to Newbrough, passes through woodland to join the Tyne Riverside Trail Path, and finishes with approximately five flat miles into Hexham. The event is staged as an A-B route; runners must book the shuttle bus to the start or arrange their own drop-off at Housesteads.
The event is open to walkers on Saturday 10 October and to runners on Sunday 11 October. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. A bag drop is available at registration and all bags are transported to the finish. The event is cani-cross friendly: one well-controlled dog per person is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times.
All finishers receive an event t-shirt, a medal, and a snack. Public car parking is available in Hexham town and car sharing is encouraged. The event will support Heel and Toe Children's Charity, a local organisation that provides therapy and support for children with physical disabilities and complex needs.
