About the race
The Gruesome Twosome is a partner-inspired urban trail event held at Aldergrove Regional Park in Aldergrove, BC (27240 8 Ave). The event offers multiple distances and a 1K fun run, and it supports BabyGoRound with a donation included in each registration.
Registration information states entries open December 1, 2025 and close August 19, 2026 or when the event reaches a 300 participant limit. Virtual entries are available, include shipping of the event package, and have a separate closing date for mailing.
Registration includes a finisher’s medal for all participants, a $5 donation to BabyGoRound, an event bib, finish line food and a smoothie or smoothie bowl from Stormy’s Smoothies. Timing is recorded manually at the finish line rather than with chips. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall in each distance. Aid stations are provided and are stocked with water, electrolyte mix, snacks and basic medical support.
The course runs on wide, hard packed dirt and gravel trails through meadows, mixed forest and wetlands with mountain views. The 5 km route is mainly flat; the 11 km route follows rolling hills around the park; the 22 km course is two laps of the 11 km route. Strollers are welcome but must be suitable for gravel trails.
