About the race

Starting and finishing at West Hanger near Guildford, this guided trail run covers 30 miles of the Greensand Way and parts of the North Downs Way. The route follows the North Downs Way past Box Hill before turning south to join the Greensand Way and then heading west. Key summits on the route include Leith Hill, Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill, with the course turning north toward Shere before returning to the start.

The event is presented as suitable for first-time ultra runners and is run as a group rather than a race. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be comfortable maintaining an average trail pace of around 10 min/mile (6:15 min/km) for prolonged periods. Steeper climbs are often hiked and the group will regroup regularly; faster runners should expect some sections at a more social pace.

A full kit list will be provided to participants. There is a free car park at the start/finish and the location is a short run or taxi ride from a nearby train station. The stated cost is £55 per person. An alcohol-free beer may be provided at the end of the run, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
