Grasmere Wild Trail Runs 2027
Grasmere Wild Trail Runs is a Lake District trail running weekend held in March 2027 at Grasmere Lakeland Sports & Show, Stock Lane, Grasmere, Cumbria. The weekend includes trail races on Saturday 20 March and Sprint and Standard Duathlons on Sunday 21 March.
Race options include:
- 5 km scenic lap of Grasmere Water, aimed at newer trail runners
- 10 km route through Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water and Rydal Water
- Half Marathon new route via Grasmere Village, Rydal Water, Rydal Caves, around Loughrigg Fell to Ambleside Park and back
Routes are available to view and download. The event is canicross friendly: one controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must be on a short lead at all times. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North.
Finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack. An event T-shirt is offered for purchase for £14. Limited on-site parking is available for £4; organisers may direct additional vehicles to public parking if the ground is wet or the car park is full.
The event is set beside Grasmere Lake with surrounding fells and mountains. The village offers local accommodation, restaurants and pubs and is close to walking routes and scenic points such as Dove Cottage and the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop.
