Grand Circle Trailfest
Grand Circle Trailfest is a three-day timed trail festival based at Jacob Hamblin Park in Kanab, Utah. The event includes three scenic trail races that move through Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Antelope Canyon on Navajo Nation land. Basecamp provides group camping, on-site bathrooms and showers, a pavilion with picnic and serving areas, and options for tent, van, or RV camping.
Distances:
- Bryce Canyon: 15.7 miles
- Zion: 10.4 miles
- Antelope Canyon: 13.2 miles (optional +1 mile available)
Courses use natural surfaces such as dirt and sand and include features like hoodoos, mesa rims, slot canyons, and sections of slick rock. Each race has at least one midcourse aid station supplying water, electrolyte drink, energy gels, fruit, and a selection of salty and sweet items. Runners use one bib with an integrated timing chip for all three races.
Festival programming runs each day after the races and typically includes yoga, clinics, speaker talks, live music, film screenings, and a beer garden. Meals at basecamp include a grab-and-go breakfast and a dinner buffet; meal tickets are distributed at check-in. The event follows a cup-free, zero waste approach on course, so participants are asked to bring a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack.
