Gobble on the Green 5K
Gobble on the Green is a Thanksgiving Day community event at The Village Green Commons, 160 Frank Allen Road, Cashiers, NC. The program includes a 5K Run/Walk and a Junior Warrior Course.
Registration for the 5K opens August 1, 2026. The 5K registration fee is $40. The Junior Warrior Course has no registration fee. T-shirts are available only to participants registered by November 6; the final t-shirt order is placed on November 6 and additional shirts will not be available on race day.
Early check-in is available on Wednesday, November 25 at Lewis Hall, where participants can pick up bibs and shirts. Race day check-in is available inside Lewis Hall. There will be signage and volunteers along the course. Parts of the course include gravel, grass, dirt, and paved surfaces. Parents with strollers should start at the back of the group. Dogs may not participate; spectators’ dogs must be leashed and under control.
Parking is available at The Village Play, Jackson County Recreation Center, Albert Carlton Cashiers Community Library, the Post Office parking lot (excluding the row closest to the building), and the grass lot behind United Community Bank; all are about a five minute walk to the start.
Top two overall finishers male and female receive pies and medals. Age-group awards go to the top two male and female finishers in seven age groups. Four door prizes will be drawn by bib number and winners must be present to receive prizes. All race times will be posted to the race sign-up website after the event. The Village Green is a 501c3 nonprofit that maintains a 13+ acre park open year round. This event is held rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
