Glenbrook Marathon

The Glenbrook Marathon is a trail running event in Glenbrook National Park based at Euroka Clearing. It offers three course lengths and runs on single tracks and fire trails through park landmarks such as Mount Portal, Red Hands Cave and Nepean Lookout.

The courses include significant elevation gain: approximately +504 m for 25 km, +667 m for 34 km and +794 m for 42.2 km. Runners follow routes that pass lookouts, Aboriginal artwork and Creeks, with the final section including the Oaks Fire Trail and Bennetts Ridge Fire Trail returning to Euroka Clearing.

Aid stations are located at multiple points on course (for example 7.5 km, 13 km, 18 km / 35 km, 21 km / 24 km / 32 km and 37.5 km) and provide water, electrolyte, coke and fruit. There are no cups at aid stations and all participants must carry capacity for at least 500 ml of water. Toilets are available at Euroka Clearing and at Red Hands Cave car park.

The event has a participant limit of 400 and a National Park entry fee of $8 payable at the gates. Age limits apply: 42.2 km and 34 km are 18 plus, 25 km is 16 plus. The 34 km and 42 km courses qualify for the Six Foot Track with specified qualification times. Cut-off times are 4 hours for 25 km, 5 hours for 34 km and 6 hours for 42.2 km.
