About the race
Geelong City Race is an urban orienteering event held in Geelong on Sunday 22 November 2026. Participants navigate between mapped control points across the city’s waterfront, laneways, parks and streets using specially designed colour maps and visit controls in numerical order.
The event offers six line courses with electronic timing sticks provided as part of entry. Courses range from family‑friendly short routes to longer competitive courses, and each course lists a direct distance, a typical route distance and a number of controls.
Course options include:
- 1X direct 9.8km, typical ~11-12km, 17 controls
- 1 direct 9.6km, typical ~11-12km, 25 controls
- 2 direct 7.6km, typical ~8-9km, 19 controls
- 3 direct 5.4km, typical ~6-7km, 17 controls
- 4 direct 4.0km, typical ~4-5km, 13 controls
- 5 direct 2.8km, typical ~3-4km, 11 controls
The weekend program also includes a sprint and a mountain bike orienteering event on the preceding Saturday, plus a social dinner and presentations after the city race.
