Gator Tail 5k Trail Race : Lacombe, LA
The event is a multi-distance running program hosted at Northshore Technical Community College in Lacombe, Louisiana, on October 17, 2026. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 5K Trail Run - Youth (10-15)
- 1 mile Fun Run
- Gator Gallop (½ mile)
The 5K trail and fun runs start at the campus and travel through wooded areas and around the southwest perimeter of the nearby Tamanend development. Course surfaces include gravel, dirt, grassy paths, short pavement sections, and a sandy field for the Gator Gallop. Trail conditions can become wet and muddy depending on recent weather. There are three water stations along the 5K route.
Packet pickup is at the Lacombe campus, 65556 Centerpoint Blvd., with pickup located in the first building lobby; parking is available on the boulevard or behind the building and ample parking is available on Centerpoint Blvd. Race activities are based in the parking lot behind the school. Participants are advised to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
Awards and items: all 5K runners receive a participation medal and a Gator Tail 5K Trail Run t-shirt; prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Gator Gallop and 1-mile participants receive medals and/or t-shirts as noted. A virtual option is available and includes a mailed t-shirt and participation medal; virtual times are not eligible for competition against in-person results.
T-shirt note: registering before October 3, 2026, helps ensure a t-shirt; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a t-shirt but remain eligible for food, a medal, and prize drawings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
